ABOUT THE ARTIST

face

Art encompasses everything around us and explains itself through endless forms – film, literature, drawing, painting, music, sculpture. They often overlap, with musicians who paint and painters who write. My own art falls on paper or canvas and is a reflection of where my eye finds beauty. It’s inspired by music, novels and drives down the highway.

My medium varies, from large oils and watercolors to calligraphy and sketch-work. Depending on my frame of mind, it could be a complex, detailed piece or a calm, simple abstract. Color and shape alight my sense of awe.

I spent my early life surrounded by nature in southwest Washington state. I look for sensory, seasonal details, like the aroma and quiet of a cedar forest. My formal training was figure-work at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. To me, the human form is the ultimate landscape.

My mission is to introduce others to a piece of the world they’ve never noticed.
